A Moment with Elizabeth Tenney “TAKE FIVE: Making Art in Reno”

Today I talked to Elizabeth Tenney about TAKE FIVE:  Making Art in Reno, happening this weekend (January 12th and 13th 2018) at Bruka Theater.

Over two nights, 36 artists will have 5 minutes each to talk, show, or create their art. This promises to be fast paced and very exciting.

Reno, NV.  TAKE FIVE:  Making Art in Reno.  Reno’s seen an arts explosion in the 25 years since Brüka Theatre began creating innovative theater. To celebrate the Biggest Little City’s transformation to an internationally recognized arts destination, Brüka invited 36 amazing artists to show in just five entertaining minutes how they make their magic.  The talented artists who accepted Brüka’s TAKE FIVE challenge are passionate about their work.  You will be enlightened.  You will be entertained. Each night is a different group of artists.

From Blue Whale creator Matt Schultz to Burning Man founder Michael “Danger Ranger” Mikel, musician Cami Thompson’s “How to sing a song” to muralist Joe C. Rock’s “How to paint a wall” and found objects artist Philo Northrup’s “How to make an ArtCar” to Campo Restaurants Executive Chef David Holman’s “How to make art on a dinner plate”; poets, painters, actors, musicians, dancers and improv comics will share their secrets in two different and extraordinary evenings.

Don’t miss the premier arts event of 2018! Tickets are $25 for either Part I or Part II, or $40 for both evenings. Tickets available online (with a small service fee) at: www.brownpapertickets.com.

Proceeds from the TAKE FIVE event benefit Brüka Theatre’s programming and operating costs for our 25th season.   We appreciate the communities support of our mission to produce live theatre of the highest quality for our region.
