‘Art Taking Flight’ at Reno Airport
Next time you are at the Reno Airport be sure to check out the C Concourse on the second floor. There you will find “Art Taking Flight”, an art gallery with work from 54 Carson City artists.
The reception for the show was extremely well attended with over 150 people enjoying the art, food, dignitaries, and even a paper airplane challenge. This event and show showcases Carson City artists and the dedicated people who are creating a powerful and solid Arts Community in Carson.
I was very taken with the quality of the work on display and the positive energy from the people attending this event. I have to give a shout out to the Carson City Arts and Culture Director, Mark Salinas for hosting “Art Taking Flight” and creating a very fun and motivational event. Also on hand to give voice to the event were the Mayor of Carson, Bob Crowell; WNC President, Dr. Vincent Solis; Marily Mora, president/CEO of Reno-Tahoe International Airport; and Nevada Assemblywoman Sarah Peters.
Three artists Michelle Legras Peltier, Rachel Stiff, and Fred Howland received awards for their artwork in the show.
Here are a few photos from “Art Taking Flight”.
