The Savage Mystic
Check out The Savage Mystic this month for the Niyo Art Center exhibition. The Niyo Art Center is located in Rwanda and has been doing stunning work allowing many Rwandans to discover art and creativity.
There is a distinctive feel to these works that reflect the home of the artists that should be experienced. There are several artists featured with their distinct styles of painting. Stop by The Savage Mystic to see the work of these exciting Rwandan artists, and you will be happy you did.
I stopped by as they were hanging the show. Here are some photos you will see that this is a show you don’t want to miss

There will be a reception for the Niyo Art Center on Friday, July 21, 2023, from 6 pm – 9 pm, featuring an exciting live show.

The Art of the Animal Gallery at Animal Artistry
We have been wanting to check out this gallery and were not disappointed. Animal Artistry started in 1983 and expanded to one of the most respected taxidermy providers in the world. But that is not all they do; the bronze statues they create are magnificent, and Mike Boyce, who started Animal Artistry with his wife, was also an accomplished painter.

For Artown, Animal Artistry created an event showcasing the art of some of its employees.
“Artists Behind Animal Artistry
The Art of the Animal Gallery proudly features the varied works of its own employee artisans. Our July exhibit will showcase a unique curation of their artisanal forms and designs. Our goal is to embrace the creativity and handicraft of our staff members while holding true to our creative mandates: the appreciation of wildlife in its dynamic form, the admiration and preservation of wildlife habitat, and the cherishing of the sublime and natural beauty of the American landscape.”
I encourage you to stop by The Art of the Animal Gallery.
The Artown exhibit runs July 4-31

Sierra Arts Foundation
Sierra Arts is in full swing for Artown. This month is the Member’s Black and White Show, and two artists in the annex, Jutta Gietl – 𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘚𝘪𝘭𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 and Todd Paige – 𝘚𝘩𝘢𝘥𝘰𝘸 𝘎𝘢𝘳𝘥𝘦𝘯: 𝘗𝘪𝘯𝘩𝘰𝘭𝘦, 𝘗𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘥𝘪𝘶𝘮 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘎𝘶𝘮.
A delicious variety of paintings, photography, and jewelry is on display.
Be sure to take a good look at Todd Paige’s pinhole photography. I also loved the texture of Jutta Gietl’s paintings.
The Members Black and White Show is a delight in monochrome.

These exhibits run from July 1 – 27, with a reception on July 15 from 12 – 4 pm.
Be sure to come to the reception on July 15, and I will be there with two pieces from my Donner Tunnel project on display.
