Backstage Review: ‘Emilie: La Marquise du Châtelet Defends Her Life Tonight.’ at Restless Artist Theater

Restless Artist Theater starts their delayed 5th season with Lauren Gunderson’s “Emilie: La Marquise du Châtelet Defends Her Life Tonight.”

“Emilie” is a play based on historical events that champions the early 18th-century French noblewoman, Emilie du Châtelet, a woman scientist that without her, we may never have had E=Mc2. There truly is everything in this play, intelligence, love, desire, disappointment, celebration, and more of the stuff that makes life worth living. The playwright (Lauren Gunderson) tells this story with her impeccable style that will bring you to tears and laughter.

As usual, Restless Artist Theater has assembled a cast that not only tells the story but also invites you into the emotions of the characters. You will appreciate the talent of these actors.
