Backstage Review: ‘Stop Kiss’

Photos and review by Dana Nöllsch

One of the goals for live theater is to bring deep emotions to the audience, and “Stop Kiss” is one of those plays that succeeds in that and then some.

As the play opens, we meet Callie, an on-air traffic reporter living in the Big Apple, and Sara, a committed public school teacher who is ready to change her life. Callie and Sara are drawn together in ways so deep that the two of them are challenged to understand.
The play chronicles Callie and Sara’s courtship and where fate is leading them. Add to this a friend with benefits, an ex-fiancé, and family, and you get beautiful human drama. As to where fate is leading them, this is the tragic turning point to this unresolved relationship.

If you want to know more, then definitely go see the show, and I recommend that you see “Stop Kiss.” The acting and directing is stellar, led by Rachel Douglass as Callie, the cast brings the emotion of the story to life.
