DESCRIPTION:BRÜKA THEATRE 31st ANNIVERSARY SEASON\nCALLING FOR:\nBIGGEST LITTLE NEW WORKS & THEATRE FESTIVAL 12\nSUBMISSIONS & WORKSHOPS\nA Week of Locally Sourced New Theatricals and Writings for the Stage\nSubmissions being accepted November 5 until November 20\, 2022 \nFestival Show Line-Up will be announced November 30\, 2023 \nJanuary\, 2024 brings the 13th BIGGEST little Theatre & New Works Festival. The festival features a variety of local playwrights and theatre artists performing\, workshopping and/or reading a diversity of work over a four day period. Submissions for shows will open on November 5\, 2023. The festival plays January 17 – 20\, 2024 \nThe TWELFTH annual Biggest Little Theatre and New Works Festival at Brüka Theatre is seeking submissions for original theatrical pieces showcasing traditional and nontraditional performances\, as well as original plays appropriate for readings/workshopping. We are a small festival\, to date\, featuring local and regional performers and performances in our downtown Reno space. \nSubmissions/Acceptance \n$25 fee for consideration in the festival. Submissions will be selected based on submission date\, quality\, innovation and the ability to meet the mission and expectations of the theatre and the festival. The fee is a non-refundable processing fee. We will accept up to SEVEN different theatricals for staged readings from Wednesday to Sunday. These submissions need to be led and organized by the group or persons submitting. Shows selected/not selected will be notified by email or phone by November 30\, 2023. \nShows/Readings/Theatricals\nRequirements for submission \nPieces must be 60 minutes or under. Set up/Strike time is 15 minutes in 15 minutes out. Shows should have their own Stage Manager/Cast/Crew/Director. The cast should not exceed EIGHT people. The show should have basic light/sound cues that can be achieved in our downstairs space. The light set up will be suitable for all shows to work with without re-focus. Each show will receive one tech/dress in the week of or day of the show. The rest of the rehearsals should take place in an alternative space. If the play is licensed or owned by someone else\, the performing groups must obtain and pay for licensing fees prior to the performances. Groups will receive 50 % of the door. This does NOT include our season ticket holders. All show/workshop tickets are $10 per person admission\, plus online fees. We may offer up to TWO complimentary tickets to press on your behalf. \nParticipant Information \n-Participants will have the opportunity to workshop their readings after each performance with audience discussion up to 30 minutes post show. (We must know this in advance for the schedule.) \n-Full Box office services\, house volunteers and a technical director to supervise your technical person or run or place an operator for the simple tech for your show. \n-Volunteer opportunities to view other shows in the festival where available or ½ off tickets to other festival shows for participants when available.
