Healing\nceremony starts. \nJoin Nevada Humanities and local poet and educator John Arsenault on Saturday\, December 13\, from 1:00 to 2:00 pm for a Sagebrush to Sandstone workshop celebrating the art and beauty of haiku in the wintertime. This workshop will take place indoors at the Fleischmann Planetarium’s small classroom (1664 N. Virginia St.\, Reno\, NV 89557) with a brief outdoor walk through the nearby cherry blossom garden on the UNR campus. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about a brief history of haiku and draft and practice their own haiku inspired by nature. \nThis workshop is open to participants of all ages and skill levels. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned artist looking to refresh your practice\, this class invites you to slow down\, observe deeply\, and capture the world around you in watercolor.\nWe will meet at the Evans Canyon Trailhead for a serene painting class while taking in nature. All art supplies will be provided\, but please bring a chair or blanket\, water\, sunscreen\, or anything else you might need to make yourself comfortable outdoors during the class.\nAll supplies included. \nAges 14 and up.
