Named for the spoon/fork variety utensil in lunchrooms\, this kooky group of problem solvers is in a league of their own as they focus their talents on values and creating community. Our original Brüka Theatre For Children productions integrate theatre\, history\, science and social studies and tour throughout Nevada as part of The Pioneer Youth Program Roster. An Original Brüka Theatre for Children Production created by Mary Bennett. Featuring David Simpson\, Jessey Richards\, Riley McKinney & Kristina Worthley. \nWritten toward a youth perspective\, problem solving\, authenticity\, and showing up for others are highlighted in a fast-paced sequence of stories\, characters and events that connect the audience to values and community. Appropriate for the whole family\, Brüka brings different styles of accessible original theatre and participation into the community so that a wide range of audiences are exposed to a deeper understanding of the story and theatrical presentations. \nBrüka Theatre has been presenting live theatre in our community for 33 years. This touring production features professional actors bringing the story to life with a small set of props and costumes\, incorporating physical theatrics\, improvisation\, and audience interaction. Select children are invited to participate in the creation of each performance\, ensuring that every show is unique. Funny and insightful\, this theatre troupe features top-notch performers and writers who consistently involve young people in learning and participating in theatre and related arts. \nBrüka brings a variety of theatrical styles and participation in the live theatre for children performances to expose young audiences to an entertaining and deeper understanding of theatrical presentations with links to the curriculum. \nBrüka Theatre partners with Pioneer Youth Programs and different venues when touring to schools and communities. Brüka Theatre is also available for private and school tours for the show. \nABOUT BRÜKA THEATRE Brüka Theatre celebrates its 33rd season of live theatre in downtown Reno – Wild Card is the theme for the 2025/2026 season. As an artistic leader in the region\, Brüka is recognized for innovative productions\, exceptionally talented artists\, and an acclaimed Theatre for Children touring series since its founding in 1992. Central to Brüka is the commitment to the re-investigation of contemporary and classic plays and developing new plays within Brüka’s Artistic Collective\, a group that includes winners of the Nevada Arts Council and Sierra Arts Foundation artist grants and now TEN local best actor honors. Brüka was named “Best Theatre Company” by Reno News and Review for twenty-one years. Brüka is a non-equity\, small\, not-for-profit member theater company and is a constituent of the national TCG (Theatre Communications Group).
