First Street\, 1st Floor Reno\, Nevada 89501 Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Free of charge to the public For more information please contact City of Reno Arts & Culture at 775.334.6264 \nReno\, NV – Metro Gallery presents Notions of Erasure: United By Territory\, an exhibit that\nprovides an opportunity for the residents and visitors of [area] to view selected works\nfrom the 2023 Nevada Arts Council Visual Arts Fellows.\nThis traveling exhibition\, curated by the Nevada Arts Council’s Artist Services Program\,\nfeatures 2023 fellows: Jeffrey Burden of Las Vegas\, Glynn Cartledge of Reno\, Gig Depio\nof Las Vegas\, Miya Hannan of Reno\, Brent Holmes of Las Vegas\, and Bobbie Ann Howell\nof Las Vegas. Each artist created work independently of one another and with no\nintention of ever appearing together; yet\, when shown alongside one another\, the\nexhibit reveals how an artist’s place\, time and environment can create unexpected\nand unintended connections that share human experiences. This exhibit brings together\nan extraordinary collection of unique artworks that span multiple media—from intimate\ndrawings and bold paintings to intricate textiles\, delicate cut paper compositions\, and\ninnovative digital creations.\nThe prestigious Nevada Arts Council Fellowship Award provides meaningful financial\nsupport and enhanced public recognition to exceptional Nevada artists\, fostering their\ncontinued pursuit of artistic excellence and creativity.\nThe exhibit is part of the Nevada Touring Initiative (NTI) Traveling Exhibition Program \,\nwhich delivers high-quality visual arts exhibits to communities throughout the state. It is\nfunded by the State of Nevada and the National Endowment for the Arts. The Nevada\nArts Council is a division of the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs.\nThe Nevada Arts Council\, a division of the Nevada Department of Tourism and Cultural\nAffairs\, was created as a state agency in 1967. Featuring David Simpson\, Jessey Richards\, Riley McKinney & Kristina Worthley. \nWritten toward a youth perspective\, problem solving\, authenticity\, and showing up for others are highlighted in a fast-paced sequence of stories\, characters and events that connect the audience to values and community. Appropriate for the whole family\, Brüka brings different styles of accessible original theatre and participation into the community so that a wide range of audiences are exposed to a deeper understanding of the story and theatrical presentations. \nBrüka Theatre has been presenting live theatre in our community for 33 years. This touring production features professional actors bringing the story to life with a small set of props and costumes\, incorporating physical theatrics\, improvisation\, and audience interaction. Select children are invited to participate in the creation of each performance\, ensuring that every show is unique. Funny and insightful\, this theatre troupe features top-notch performers and writers who consistently involve young people in learning and participating in theatre and related arts. \nBrüka brings a variety of theatrical styles and participation in the live theatre for children performances to expose young audiences to an entertaining and deeper understanding of theatrical presentations with links to the curriculum. \nBrüka Theatre partners with Pioneer Youth Programs and different venues when touring to schools and communities.
