New Concert Event Celebrates the 50th Anniversary of the Legendary Opera Singer’s Debut and Includes Performances of Famous Giuseppe Verdi Operas

Fathom Events celebrates the illustrious half-century long career of beloved Maestro Plácido Domingo by bringing his operatic talents to movie theaters across the country on September 7 only. Domingo made his stage debut in Verona, Italy at the Arena di Verona in the city of Romeo and Juliette during the summer of 1969. He sang the role of Calaf in Puccini’s “Turandot” and the title role in Giuseppe Verdi’s “Don Carlo.” Fifty years later, he returns to the Arena di Verona for an operatic gala event, which will screen in two theaters in Reno and include three operas with grand baritone parts: Verdi’s Nabucco, Macbeth, and Simon Boccanegra.

In his career, he has recorded over 100 complete operas and sung 149 different roles. He began his career as a tenor and now sings baritone parts. He is also a conductor.

This gala will show at 12:55 PM at the Century Riverside 12 and the Century Summit Siera on Saturday, September 7, 2019. The run time is 2 hours.
