About Us

Reno Arts News is a group of artists and creatives who love the Arts Community in Reno.
We will share our love and commitment to the community with our words, thoughts, and images.

Hannah Davis – Contributor

Hannah is a local film and theatre actor, with over 20 years of experience performing throughout the Reno-Tahoe area. Notable projects include touring with Bruka’s Theatre for Children, having a romping fun time in musicals such as The Wild Party and Cabaret, and pursuing theatrical role models of strong and inspirational young women such as Anne Frank, Diary of Anne Frank and Molly, Peter and the Starcatcher. She is thrilled to be partnering with Reno Art News as she steps into her new role off the stage and into her seat in the audience as a joyous show-goer.

Paul G. White – Contributor

Paul G. White is a life-long photojournalist and former copy editor at the Reno Gazette-Journal. He has pursued his passion for journalism since 1971 as a Combat Correspondent in the United States Marine Corps and has a degree in mass communications from the University of Minnesota, Moorhead. He has worked with Hot August Nights, the Reno Air Races, Reno Magazine, Sparks Tribune and his photos and articles have appeared in publications all over the United States. He is married to Tammy Hansen White, a math teacher at North Valleys High School and a bodybuilder and nutritionist. They have lived in Reno since 1997.

Jesse James Ziegler – Contributor

Jesse James Ziegler earned a degree in Philosophy (with a concentration in Ethics and Society) from Cal Poly SLO as well as a double minor in Spanish and Speech Communication. He was admitted to the Master’s Program in English, but decided that he wanted to create a great adventure of his own rather than only reading about the ones that others had done. After leaving the University he began traveling extensively on the international level and working all over these United States. He has been an active member of Spoken Views Collective (Western Nevada’s longest standing Spoken Word/Slam/Poetry Open Mic Organization) since shortly after relocating from the D.C. area in the fall of 2014. He currently serves on the Board, and is the host of their special event series ‘Poets of the Caribbean’. He is actively involved with growing the poetry community at various local venues including the Bruka Theatre, Good Luck Macbeth Theatre Co., Merry War Theatre Group, the Holland Project, Sierra Arts, West Street Market, and Barnes and Noble Booksellers. He runs all of the social media for ‘Poets of the Caribbean’ and ‘Sideways Eight Projects’ (his personal blog) and is extremely excited to be a regular contributor to Reno Arts News. Poetry will always be his first love as he believes in its ongoing ability to be a medium for personal growth as well as social commentary, awareness, and relevance.

Gary Weinheimer – Contributor

Gary has traveled around the world and has a very adventurous palette. He will try anything he can get past his nose. Any time he travels abroad Gary makes it a point to sample the native cuisine and enjoys bringing that same sense of adventure to his daily dining.

Gary loves trying new places to eat and is happiest when he discovers new flavors he has never tasted before.

David Zybert – Contributor

David Zybert has been annoying audiences since the age of six, as an actor, director, singer, and writer, but not, thank goodness, as a dancer. His credits are many and varied—he has done television, film, and his first love, theater. Currently, David has been concentrating on directing, mainly for Restless Artists Theatre in Sparks. He roots for the Los Angeles Angels and is a proud Rotarian. Born with a twisted outlook on life and a bizarre talent for free association and bad puns, David has found peace, home, and family in Reno.
