Parking is free on arts-events evenings (after 6:30 p.m.) in the Brian J. Whalen Parking Complex top floor (level 5), which is north of the Church Fine Arts Building and south of Lawlor Events Center.

Dr. Yoon Hwang, associate professor of bassoon at the University of Central Florida, presents a lecture recital exploring the cultural connections between Korea and the US in the early Cold War. Ely Haimowitz (1920-2010), a former piano professor at UNR, served as the Cultural Officer of the United States Army Military Government in Korea (USAMGIK). He played a significant role in establishing the Korea Symphony Orchestra and facilitated the education of talented Korean classical musicians in the US during the early Cold War era. She will also perform compositions by Kim Sunnam with UNR keyboard faculty Dr. Bryan Chuan.
