What is “Moon Muses: Encore”?
Well, there is music and singing, dance and teasing, aerial performers, and a splash of comedy.
“Moon Muses: Encore” is sexy with the subtle energy of postmodern burlesque. Last year Moon Muses had a sold-out run during their Artown performances. This year Marla Paulina decided to create another Artown performance, hence the Encore in the title. These new performances have been sold out just like last year’s performances.
Let’s take a look at the performances.
First the music. Marla Paulina is the power behind Moon Muses. There is no aspect of the show that Marla is not directly involved in. The audience will see her as the singer, specifically the crooner of the songs that will melt your heart. Her powerful and sensual voice holds her audience captive.
The dancers. A group of talented dancers giving the audience every ounce of their energy. These six gifted dancers offer expertly choreographed dance numbers with a bit of burlesque spice.
The aerial performers. There is a feeling of danger as aerialists practice their art. However, this danger is only surpassed by the beauty of the performance. As you can see by the photos, the performances these three talented women offer will keep your heart beating quickly.
The comedy. John Wade is an absolutely brilliant burlesque dancer. His energy and physical presence will draw you in, and his gift for comedy will keep you laughing. I have never seen John anything less than outstanding in his performances.
We found “Moon Muses: Encore” to be thoroughly enjoyable, and we are very glad that the show will be around for a bit longer. If you get a chance, do go see this show and be sure to bring someone to enjoy it with.
