Art Trek, October 13, 2023

This week, our Art Trek was full of dreamy, surreal, vibrant art. So join us for Art Trek October 13.

The Savage Mystic

This month at The Savage Mystic is an installation piece that calls the viewer to take the time to explore the exhibit on a deeper level.

“The Meeting”: Works by Lyndsey Langsdale & Mallory Mishler is as unexpected for the viewer as it was for the artists. You will want to take your time with this exhibit, as there is much to explore.

Here is a link to a video version of the artist’s statement for the exhibit: https://www.facebook.com/1067923184/videos/3147220798914526/

There is an artist reception on October 26.

Wallspace Gallery

“Ethereal” is the show this month at the Wallspace Gallery. This group show features works that are Ethereal, Fantastical, Otherworldly, Exquisite, and Original.

The show was only partially hung when we were there, but there were a few pieces that gave us a great preview of the show to come.

NFA Gallery

Imagine a room lit by black lights with art glowing brilliantly on the walls, and you will have an idea of “Dark Nights, Blacklights.” I love the direction of this show. Look at the photos, and you will see what I mean.

The Holland Project

“Young Blood” is the current exhibit at The Holland Project. This exhibit features local up-and-coming artists under 21.

It’s a great opportunity for young artists to gain some experience exhibiting their artwork in a gallery as well as a chance to see what other young local art makers have been creating. Young Blood happens twice each school year and takes place in the Holland Project Gallery. The fall 2023 Young Blood exhibition will be open to visitors Tuesday, October 10th – Friday, October 13th with gallery hours from 12-6pm.

Makers Paradise

The last stop on our journey was the Makers Paradise. This month’s featured exhibit is “Mystical, Magical, Otherworldly.”

Dreamy and exotic, this group show is indeed magical. The quality of this show is top-notch indeed. And when you are there, check out the new location of Junkies.

There is a reception on the 28th from 4 pm to 7 pm so you can meet the artists and have some nosh.

When you check out the show, be sure to look for a kitty and a bowl of ramen. Sorry for the blatant self-promotion.
