In the near future, many things are possible, but not everything should be done, perhaps? “By & By” is the story of a scientist finding fuel for his work in his personal grief.

More about By & By
Bye and Bye is a science fiction play by Lauren Gunderson. The setting is the near future, where genetic experiments have found new possibilities. Steven, a scientist, loses his wife in a tragic accident and, in his grief, takes science to another level.
Denise is Steven’s daughter. She discovers the truth about who she is and sets out to find out more. As Denise follows the trail, her discoveries are certainly eye-opening.
You may ask yourself when watching By & By, did David lose some of his soul when he lost his wife, or perhaps some of his sanity? And you will ask yourself, “What would I do?”

What about the Performances
The performances are tight and driven.
The two leads, Layne La Vanway and Serenity La Vanway are indeed father and daughter in real life as well as on stage. This dynamic is evident in their engaging performances on stage.
Kathy Welch and Jonathan Gastello are rounding out the cast in various pivotal roles.
The Set
The set is simple and effective, with a bit of a future feel.
The Bottom Line
“How far is too far?” This is the question you will be asking after seeing By & By, and that may be enough. But you will also be presented with a tight story and great acting. By & By is well worth seeing.
